Some stats..... Yes I'm a long way from the exchange!

By no means an expert at this but living 5km from an exchange here I've looked a lot at the same issues. Your stats are amazingly good for 62dB downstream attenuation. The only caution I would have is that error rates are just as important as link speed so I wouldn't make the headline connection rate your sole goal. Worth getting an app called 'RouterStats' which will allow you to look at the error rates on the line. VOIP test sites (just google 'VOIP test') also give a good test of line quality.

If they look good then I'd check the SNR at about 10pm and if its still good then I'd progressively drop the SNR to see how low you can go and still keep a stable line. You do seem to have an unusual case here though, your numbers are already good for that attenuation.

Congratulations with a really good purchase.
I bought the same router a few days ago reading loads of reviews and was ready to spend around 100 quid for the thing which will replace BT HH-2. I was really sick and tired of my wife's facebook farmville, which caused a huge ping raising when i was playing CS:Source. I have a BT broadband which is 1.96 or 2.44 mbps. It depends. Didn't have any knowledge at all about IP Profiles etc until bought the router. Was looking for a decent router which has QOS, so i could do some traffic prioritization and limitation. After a couple of hours with setting up the router I was on the right way enjoying the game online having a decent acceptable pings.
Anyway, i heard some people making router tweaks get a better bandwidth results, so I spend another 8 hours reading, testing.

I have the same problem as you do. I live about 2.8 miles (4.5km) away from the exchange and suffer with broadband speed sometimes.
After testing and setting up different parameters and playing around with the figures, I think I have got the best, what could at this time.

SNR value is: 1
If I set value 50, I get Downstream 2848, but SNR Down Margin gets higher ~12. I tried other values but it wasn't good.
I still dont know what is the best sollution. Is it to get i higher Downstream and a little lower SNR Margin or vice versa.

Please note: I had a BT I-plate installed in the main BT socket before, but today it was replaced to ADSL Faceplate and my Downstream went up to 3648. Which means, I could get 3000 IP Profile hopefully. At the moment it got down a little to 3488 which is still on the 3000 IP Profile range.

You could try my settings and as well to get your own its just a matter of time to play around a little bit.
