DNS settings with 7800N and Sky Fibre

Does anyone know how to configure the DNS settings such that the 7800N will use the DNS that I want rather than the Sky-provided ones? I can see the various locations in the 7800N's config webpages (192.168.1.254) that enable me to set this, but my problem is that the new values do not seem "sticky" i.e. they immediately get reset back to the Sky DNS 90.207.238.97. Does anyone know how to make the new values stick?

Also, for the moderators this time - I tried to do search of this forum for "DNS" but got the error message that the search term was too vague, or some such. Currently there are 10 pages that I might have to wade through to check that this question hasn't been asked/answered before. Is there a way to remove this limitation? As the user base grows, there might be a lot more than 10 pages to search manually!

Hi sfitzp4573

Try the following

1. Login to the router configuration page
2. Click on 'Advanced'
3. Click on 'Configuration'
4. Click on 'WAN'
5. Click on 'WAN Profile'
6. Untick 'Obtain DNS Automatic '
7. In the 'Primary' section enter the DNS server you want to set eg 8.8.8.8 (google DNS servers)
8. In the 'Secondary' section enter the DNS server you want to set eg 8.8.4.4 (google DNS servers)
9. Click on 'Edit/Delete' to apply your change
10. Click on 'Save Config'
11. Click on 'Apply' to 'Write settings to FLASH'
12. Click on 'Restart' bottom right hand corner
13. Select 'Current Settings'
14. Click on the 'Restart' button
