1. Reset 8800NL back to factory default settings
2. Login to the Billion
3. Click on 'Configuration >> WAN >> WAN Service'
4. Edit the PTM >> PPPOE profile for VDSL/FTTC or PPPOA for ADSL
5. Change the 'Type' to 'Bridging' (for VDSL/FTTC only ensure '802.1P Priority' is set to 0 and the ' 802.1Q VLAN ID ' is set to 101)
6. Click on 'Apply'
7. Plug your 'Asus' router to the port 1 on the 8800NL (the gigalan port)
8. Setup your Asus router for PPPOE connection entering your broadband username and password in sections provided (for Sky you will need to check the Asus to see if it support option 61 Client ID to pass authentication with Sky VDSL/FTTC)

Hi There,

I have exactly the same set up and want to use the 8800NL as a modem only to an Asus RT-AC87U.

Following the above guide Billion Fan posted, what would be the best way to still be able to access the 8800NL Modem stats?

Cheers...

I use the same setup, 8800nl as modem to ac87u. For monitoring I use a different ip address range on the modem and plug a cable from port 4 of the modem to a spare port on the router. Then using a windows 10 pc with 2 network cards I configure each card with a static ip with one in the modem range and the other in the router range.
I can run hg612 stats all the time on this pc and upload to mydslstats too.

Modem is on 192.168.0.1 and my router is on 192.168.1.x
Works just fine
Cheers
