Wake on Lan over the internet 800nl R2, how?

Post by RichardT »

Just purchased a Billion 8800nll R2, and im having difficulty in setting it for Wake on Lan.
Somewhere hiding in the set up is an option for prort forwarding if i remember correctly i need to forward ports 7 and 9
Also is there an option to assign a fixed ip address to my P.C and then forward wake on lan packets to that IP /mac address???

anyone?

You can let the router assign a fixed IP address to your device using the 'Configuration >> LAN >> Static IP Lease List' (found in the centre of the page, click on 'Add' button just below Static IP Lease List' enter a IP address outside the DHCP range and your mac address, and click on 'apply'

Once done also setup a static ARP rule to map the MAC address (you are manually directing IP traffic to a MAC address) found under 'Advanced Setup >> Static ARP'

Then finally the port forwarding rule, attached is screen shot example.
