System Up-Time v. Connection Time

Post by gatekeeper »

In the GUI of the router, under 'Status > Information' and also 'Status > WAN', we see 'System Up-Time' and 'Connection Time', respectively. What's the difference between these? I've always wondered.

My 8800's been up and running continuously for many months (as far as I've been aware) and indeed the value showing in System Up-Time at present seems to confirm that. However, Connection Time shows a period of less than 30 days.

System uptime is how long since you powered the router on.
Connection time is the time since the broadband connection last dropped for whatever reason.
