8900X R2 Firmware

Post by moorsey »

Hi there,

Looking for the latest firmware for this item, but I can't seem to find anything about it. If I didn't have one on my desk, I would say it didn't exist.

I have the .com product page: http://www.billion.com/Communication/xD ... 8900X%20R2

.......but that's it.

Any help appreciated

Installed version is showing as 2.50a.dl23

Same here. I have one that doesn't seem to work with BT infinity FTTC. Works OK if I use a remote modem and works on ADSL. No information on any of the support sites. No firmware updates?

The device should work fine, on VDSL (tested here within the UK)

Try the following the steps below if your device is able to sync on VDSL

1. Reset the unit back to factory default settings
2. Login to device on http://192.168.1.254
3. Use the username 'admin' and password 'admin' to login
4. Click on' Configuration >> WAN'
5. Edit the PTM >> PPPOE profile
6. Ensure the '802.1Q VLAN ID' is set to 101 and the '802.1P Priority' is set to 0
7. Enter the username 'bthomehub@btinternet.com' and the password 'BT' (case sensitive)
8. Click on 'Apply'
9. Check to see if the internet LED turns 'green'

Device working will be best in VDSL. This method has already been tried.

The previous link is for the 8900AX-2400 but the question refers to the 8900X-R2. The 2400 firmware wont load onto the R2.

I have the same issue; My r2 was supplied with version 2.50a.dl23 loaded.

There is a link to the latest version on the Billion UK site;
http://www.billion.uk.com/esupport/inde ... c-8900x-r2
However the site says the latest version is 2.50a.d13.

So the latest is version 13 and I'm running version 23?
What does the L stand for, is it a country code?. Perhaps version 13 is actually later than version 23 but there's some muddle with region codes or country codes? Should I load version 13 as I have no way of reverting back to 23.
