DSL/Internet light will not come on

Hi,

I disconnected the router this afternoon to fit in a new TV cabinet. Upon reconnecting it, it would not pick up a DSL sync whatsoever, and the front lights for DSL/Internet was not lit up in any colour at all.

I resetted the router to factory defaults and it was then able to pick up a DSL sync. But after inputting my DSL authentication info and rebooting for it to take effect, the DSL/Internet lights failed to come on again.

What should I do?

N.B. I have a spare 2700HGV router in place now and I will not be doing any more dsl synching today, done too many already and am concerned my SNR will rise or Interleave will get enabled.

I assume you manually reconfigured the PPP info?

The only time I have seen a similar issue is when after the reset, (ADSL then synced) and the customer restored a config (which had the issue of no sync), then wasn't synced, so he resetted again and manually reconfigured the device and everything was fine from then on.

I left the PPP info at defaults after doing a factory reset as it was already set at PPPoA (this is the one supported by ISP), I only filled in the username/password in WAN Profile and restarted for changes to take effect, after a reboot the DSL light failed to come on/blink. I did not restore a backup of my config at any time during this troubleshooting.

Strangely it's working fine today. I reset it to factory defaults again and the DSL light blinks even through reboots. So I put it back downstairs and connected it to the ADSL socket and manually set up WiFi and input all my static LAN IPs again. The issue may have been intermittent?

Monitor the connection for now, like you said it could of been a intermittent issue, but at least its working now
