8800NL R2 HalfBridge issue

Post by Myst1caL »

Hi I'm wanting my 8800nl r2 to act as a modem but handle the pppoe functions as well, I read that the halfbridge function is the solution as it handles the modem/authentication stuff but gives out the wan ip to my other router. Problem is only some websites seem to work for me in Halfbridge mode google, facebook etc work fine but websites like dailymail.co.uk etc just time out.
thought it was an isp dns issue but got the same results with google dns and when half bridge is disabled all websites work. anyone experience this or know a solution to this as if I can get this working I've found the perfect setup. thanks

Seems to work here fine, tested with the latest firmware 2.52.d1 and a windows 7 PC (WAN IP passed over to a win 7 PC)

Half bridge only works on ADSL

Hi thanks for the reply I was confused as to why the method is included under PTM / VDSL. Anyway is there another method you would recommend to achieve the same results. Just want a clean untouched connection to my Netduma router

The only other option is to set the device to 'Bridging Mode' and let your Netduma dial in via PPPOE with your broadband username and password set.
