I have had an 8800NL working entirely satisfactorily for a couple of years now. I have resisted the temptation to upgrade the firmware from vers 2.32d.dm12 which was fitted originally as I am obtaining 74/18 performance with almost no drop-outs or interuption of service. However I am concerned about recently reported hacking of routers. Can anyone advise me if upgrading to the latest firmware will make my device any more secure? I am a great believer in "If it aint broke, dont fix it" and I dont think that my perfomance can be significantly improved upon by the upgrades but I could be wrong.
Could someone please advise. many thanks
Mac

Hi Mac,
It won't do any harm. But, it's up to you. It would be best to stay up to date.

I'd take a contrary view....
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well updates always gives you some sort of protection and virus and hacking definitions are upgraded in every updates. You should keep all your devices updated.
