So I've had success in avoiding these reboots and I think its only fair to update this post to make that clear.
I did downgrade one modem to the firmware you attached but both this and the second modem on the latest firmware seem to be working flawlessly so I have no idea what was causing the reboots.
Thanks for your help.

Just to add to this discussion.
I purchased an 8800nl r2 about a month ago in preparation for out new FTTC connection being installed and updated the firmware to the latest version.
Initially I ran it in ADSL mode and since the 21st April VDSL2 mode with our new fibre.
I've had 2 unexpected resets, the first in ADSL mode which reset the device to factory settings (red light came on on the front of the device) and the second last night which just seemed to reboot the modem.
I use this in bridge mode with wireless disabled and debug level logging to an external syslog device. Logging seems to be patchy in that sometimes it will log to the remote server and sometimes, like now it doesn't.
I'm wondering if this is a faulty device causing the disconnects, especially the reset to factory.

snowlucas, are you aware that your downstream rate is banded at 35000 Kbps? May want to book a broadband engineer to get this removed.

Quick update.
Latest firmware didn't resolve the issue so Billion replaced the unit.
New unit, running an old version of the firmware (2.50.d13) has not reset since it was installed on Thursday 4th May. Oddly it has recorded no ES or SES on the downstream link, with about 200 ES upstream in the 72 hours it's been online.
Billion support had the advance replacement authorised within about 3 hours of responding the the ticket on the 2nd after the bank holiday.
Very happy.

Hi sorry so slow to reply. I was hoping the DLM would sort this but it never did. I tried the newest firmware this week but after minths of not losing connections it all started again so I have reverted to 2.50a.d13.
What is the most efficient way to get the banding looked at?
Thanks.

Sorry to dredge an old thread - but this is also happening to me
Debug logging reveals no meaningful logs, seams to reboot and crash randomly
Im using bridge mode / VDSL
I have setup debug logging on a syslog server to see If I can catch the bug - I have also reverted to 2.50a.d13

Add you comments to the 'firmware 2.52' thread as this has been picked up in there and is being investigated as I type.Robbrad wrote: ↑Tue Sep 11, 2018 6:53 pm Sorry to dredge an old thread - but this is also happening to me
