Try saving your settings to flash and restarting the router
If that does not work try the following steps.
1. Reset the Billion router back to factory default settings
2. Click on WAN on the 'Basic' menu
3. Change the 'Main Port' to 'EWAN'
4. Enter your 'Sly username and password in 'Client ID' Section
5. Click on 'Apply'
6. The Billion router should now restart
7. Check to see if the internet light turns green
If that still does not work you can try and spoof the mac address of your working Sky router.
Use the following link to do so
http://192.168.1.254/mac.html (copy your Sky's routers MAC and enter it into the 7800N)
Once done save the settings and restart with current settings.
ps I don't think the router is faulty, it seems there is authentication issue somewhere.

I have no idea why it wasn't working before???

Re: 7800N Sky FTTC test firmware now working (UPDATED 16/5)
I need help to use my Billion 7800N with Sky Fibre.
I have followed the instructions in this thread and I just cannot get a green internet light!
I have the latest firmware v1.06g.
I have done a factory reset.
I am pulling my hair out.
One thought I have is that my logon details are incorrect because I have 3 x F's in my mac address. Well they look like F's but they or some of them could be E's and as the bottom of the E would be so close to the bottom of the sticker, they would look like F's.
Hope that makes sense.
Does anyone here have any E's in their mac address? Are they obviously E's?

Re: 7800N Sky FTTC test firmware now working (UPDATED 16/5)
Just noticed the mac address within the sky router and I was right.
Some of the E's are F's and vice versa.
So hopefully, I can get it working now.

Made no difference.
Router still gets no response from the modem.
Sadly, it looks like I am stuck with my sky router until I find the answer.

Sadly, it looks like buying my Billion 7800N was a waste of money as I just cannot get it to connect to sky fibre.

Re: 7800N Sky FTTC test firmware now working (UPDATED 16/5)
Need help desperately as I am really struggling with this.
I have followed the various guides on here to the letter to no avail.
I have added the sky router mac address (lan mac address) to no avail.
I have reflashed the beta firmware and factory reset before and after.
Could it be a password issue? I always get 'no response' when authentication is attempted.
I have rebooted the modem.
I have tried getting the logon details using capital letters from the password and lower case letters. Both give same result anyway.
I have a suspicion that when doing a factory reset, it is not being done fully because on occasions I have noticed that the sky router mac address is still in place in the Billion even after a factory reset.
Help!

Re: 7800N Sky FTTC test firmware now working (UPDATED 16/5)
OK, got it working at last.
I had the wrong firmware. I had v1.06g but not v1.06d dci or whatever it is.
Perhaps the firmware should be highlighted better to avoid this error happening to others.
Once I had the correct firmware flashed, I just entered the details as advised and connected immediately.
I assume the reported upstream and downstream speed of 35000 is not being reported correctly?
I have an 80 / 20 service as I live very close to the exchaneg and cabinet.
I have to say though that it does seem slower an sluggish compared to the sagem router when surfing.
Not tried any downloads yet.

Re: 7800N Sky FTTC test firmware now working (UPDATED 16/5)
Does that mean you downgraded your firmware or did you change over to a special fibre firmware?
I cannot get mine to work and in my client I'd field I have a plus symbol which gets converted to a space once I've submitted it.
Edit, bust noticed the firmware in the first post. Is that the one i should be using or has there been an updated one since then? I'm currently using the main 1.06 firmware.

Re: 7800N Sky FTTC test firmware now working (UPDATED 16/5)
I originally downloaded the v1.06g version firmware from the main download area believing it was the correct firmware for sky fibre.
The correct firmware is in post 7 of this thread.
It works immediately when you fill in the details.
