8800NL R2–Latest Firmware – Wifi unstable

Post by maxed68 »

I have a Billion 8800NL R2 using the latest firmware 2.52.d10.
The wifi connections are sporadic, preventing devices (mainly apple) from reconnecting.

At different times established devices can’t reconnect and the only way of connecting them again is by activating a guest SSID
(I think this is more about a reset of the radio than anything).

Once reconnected the device is fine again (this can happen daily), any ideas ?

When you upgraded did you reset back to factory default settings, and manually reconfigure the device again??

Have you tried to change the channel the router outputs on??

Also have you set the 'Bandwidth' set to '20mhz' (default settings)

Also how many clients are connecting the 8800NL R2, if its around 16, I will suggest increasing the allowed client steps below

1. Login to router
2. Click on 'Configuration >> Wireless >> Advanced'
3. Change the 'Global Max Clients' to '24' for example and click on 'Apply'
4. Click on 'Basic' on the left hand side under 'Wireless'
5. Change the 'Max Clients' to '24' and click on 'Apply'

I've scanned the channels and have chosen channel 6 are there are no other conflicting ap's in the area (this is in a rural location)

Have upped the max clients to 24 on both pages.

I'll report back on the results.

Thanks

Many Thanks
I think this has solved it, obviously my wireless clients were maxing out the limits.
