8800NLR2 Slow WiFi

Post by keithfedi »

My VDSL sync speed is 32 meg and connecting via Ethernet I get similar results on a speed test. WiFi can only achieve around 20 meg on PC, Iphone and tablet placed next to the router.
I'm running latest firmware have tried numerous channels, 20/40 Mhz mode to no avail. Connecting no more than 4 devices via WiFi as the rest use Homeplug adaptors (I've even tried swithching these off - still the same).
The router was set to default after firmware upgrade.
I'm currently using a WiFi homeplug extender downstairs which manages 30 meg.
Any ideas?

The only option I can suggest is

1. using 2.52.d10 firmware
2. Changing the channel (as you have done)
3. Setting the bandwidth back to '20mhz' to minimise interference levels, and once also try channels 1, 6 or 11

Firmware is already upgraded.
I've changed to channel 6 and that has improved things - speed now 28 meg next to the router. As I have to have a TP Link homeplug adapter for YouView anyway it's no hassle to configure this as a wireless access point giving 30 meg downstairs.
Thanks for the help.

Hi keithfedi and Billion_fan
I have the same issue after upgrading to the new software.
Have you had a fix?

Try changing the channel as suggested above
