8900AX-2400 Antenna

Post by mCbillion »

Hi there..

My 8900AX-2400 has a broken antenna (front right as I look at it). Can anyone please tell me :

a) how to safely remove it without breaking something else, as I can seem to pull it or unscrew it from the router body.

b) Where I can source a replacement antenna from - I've done some Googling but come up empty handed.

c) Whether I should replace with stock antennas or upgrade them.

Pics of broken antenna: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Thanks in advance..

You can't replace the antenna without voiding the warranty, even then they are not screw type, so not interchangeable.

You can't source a replacement, the device will have be returned under warranty

Thanks for the reply.

I bought the router used, so I don't have a warranty. I have no problem opening it up and replacing the antenna, as long as I can get hold of a part to replace it with.

That's the problem, I tried to the remove the antenna and can't normally the device will be returned to our head office and the casing changed. (as the antenna are clipped in the casing)

If the wires are still connected the antenna, it should still be functioning

I think the unit may actually be under warranty as apparently the seller only bought it 6 months ago. I should know more this evening or tomorrow.
