Im a new Billion user having previously used only Netgear devices.
New 8900AX2400 installed today and it has "hung" three times already. when I say "hung", I mean that it becomes unrepsonsive. The WIFI LEDs still flash but the DSL LED just lights solid. All connected devices report no internet connection and I cant access the GUI to investigate.
A power cycle resolves the issue for a few hours.
I have a WD MyCloud connected via ethernet, so I have disconnected this device to ensure it isn't contributing to the issue.
I am on ADSL and I have updated to the latest firware.
Any ideas? I'm a little disappointed at present.
Thanks

Re: 8900AX2400 "Hanging"
Hi That is correct the DSL LED should remain solid once it has established a connection with your ISP its the Internet LED that should flicker with data, Is the Internet LED activated if not it sounds like internet protocols may not be correct.
When you restart the router and it works for a few hours the DSL LED should be solid and the Internet light flickers with data is that correct?
Even so that should not effect accessing the web interface, i assume that you're accessing it via a wired connection, that concerns me a little odes the unit appear very hot, it should not run hot they are very well designed even in the very recent hot temperatures mine was warm on top but not worryingly warm, the adapter should also just be warm not hot in anyway.
For a test back up you're settings reset to default run for 2 to 3 hours and see if you can gain access to the web interface I appreciate you wont have no internet of any sorts but it might eliminate a hardware problem.
Just ideas to try good luck

Re: 8900AX2400 "Hanging"
Sorry, my mistake, it is the Internet LED that was solid with the wifi LEDS flashing.
I disconnected the WD MYCLoud and the system ran fine for nearly 24hrs. I reconnected the MyCloud and within 1hr things were playing up again. This time, all of the wifi connected devices had a very slow connection. I was again unable to access the router GUI (192.168.1.254) to review the logs.
Ive disconnected the MyCloud and rebooted the router and all is fine for the time being. It looks like the MyCloud is part of the problem but I dont know why. The MyCloud goes into "sleep" mode when left inactive for a while and I am wondering whether it is associated with the problem, although I never had this problem with my Netgear router.
£40 Netegar router worked fine, £240 Billion router doesnt!

Re: 8900AX2400 "Hanging"
Well, the situation has deteriorated. even with the MyCloud disconnected, the throughput to the wifi connected devices slowly deteriorates until it becomes unusable.
When observing the router the 2.4GHz and internet LEDS are flashing extremely quickly although nothing is actually using the connection.
It has got to the point where I have to reconnect my Netgear router. Everything is working fine with this device.
Unless somebody con offer some pearls of wisdom, I am going to have to return the Billion router as it simply is unusable at present.

Hi
Hi give it to Monday and i'm sure billion_fan will be in touch or raise a ticket it sounds like you know what you're doing so maybe its a hardware problem when its working is the speed about the same as the the Netgear or worse, I'm on fiber and even the early firmware problems were more to do with disconnections rather then throughput is the speed comparison between the Netger and Billion about the same when its working for the few hours, i have used a BT modem with the Billion as a test and the Billion is much better, as a test can you put the the Netgear into bridge mode and run the billion using the EWAN then you will know that it is the modem side of the Billion causing the problem, i'm on talktalk which seems to cause more problems then other ISP's (only cosmetic problems with the Internet LED) if you're on talktalk tell me you're settings because i seem to use different settings from other talktalk customers

Try using a older firmware link attached (as this is a firmware downgrade you will have to reset back to factory default settings after the downgrade then manually reconfigure the device again)IP1LTS wrote: ↑Sun Aug 19, 2018 6:49 pm Well, the situation has deteriorated. even with the MyCloud disconnected, the throughput to the wifi connected devices slowly deteriorates until it becomes unusable.

Re: 8900AX2400 "Hanging"
I have downloaded the new "old" formware and updated the router.
At present it appears ok, so I'll leave it running as is for 24hrs. If it remains stable, I'' try reconnecting the WD MyCloud and see what happens then.
Fingers crossed.

Re: 8900AX2400 "Hanging"
Well all seemed fine last night. However this morning, the router had dropped all wifi connections and refused to allow any connections to be re-established. I tried to connect my laptop via ethernet but it also refused to connect.
Back on my trusty Netgear router at present.
Any further suggestions before i send it back as faulty?
