How to delete DHCP leases?

Post by adrianw »

I've replaced an old Speedtouch 716WL with a 7800N.
It's early days, but it's looking as though the 7800N consistently connects at a faster speed to my ADSL line and the connection is more stable.
So I'm very pleased.

However, I was messing round with a range extender and got into a position where there were multiple devices with the same ip address on the LAN.
My MacBook ended up with superfluous entries in the 7800's DHCP lease table which I want to delete.

On the Speedtouch there was a simple Delete button (as well as a CLI command) to delete a DHCP lease.
How do I do this on the 7800N?

Second question:
on the Speedtouch I could assign a name to a device without giving it a fixed address.
Is it possible to do this on the 7800N?

Restart the router that should clear the DHCP lease table.

No this is not possible on the 7800N, the client should have a option to set a name eg iphone, windows 7 machine etc.
