LCP terminated by peer

Post by Griff27 »

For weeks now I have been plagued by VDSL connection dropping.
I have had three visits by BT and they have, to be fair, done a fair job of trying to track the problem. Line tests from both ends of connection (home and cabinet) and even two "lift and shifts". After all this it has been established that the line is stable and not dropping synch.
I have been in contact with my ISP (Zen) and they have reported having seen my connection drop 500 times over three days!

I am using Bipac 8900AX R2-1600, latest firmware 2.50a.d23 and have done factory reset and the problem still exists. Extract of log as below:-

I have also tried a spare Draytec 2760n with similar results/drop outs.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Looks like the PPP session is dropping (not the DSL line losing sync), the ISP will have to investigate as both the Draytek and Billion and returning with the same results

I should have also mentioned that I am seeing a lot of time outs on pings the ISP's primary and secondary DNS addresses

Looks like a packet loss, something you can also report to the ISP
