Hi all,
Can't seem to get screen sharing on OS X Lion working with my 7800N. Screen sharing works with two directly connected Macs.
I just want screen sharing between local computers connected to the 7800N - I don't require external remote access.
Apple support states that VNC is on port 5900 and Apple Remote access on 5988.
What and where do I need to set to achieve screen sharing? Firewall? Port Forwarding, Virtual Server?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi
I assume screen sharing is like remote desktop (sorry don't use MAC)
All you need to do is opens the ports in the virtual server section (adding the port the protocol and IP address of the machine you want to have remote access on)

Just tried this on mine and works fine no ports forwarded. (Between iMac and Macbook)

Not really sure why it is not working, when screen sharing between two devices on the LAN there should not be a need for port forwarding, as stated by the user above.
Maybe you can try and set fixed ips outside the DHCP range to each device and test again, just like you did with two directly connected Macs.

Try using gomeetnow desktop screen sharing service. It is very easy to use and allows screensharing amongst multiple computers, both windows and MAC.
