Hi
I've just replaced my Draytek 2860 with a new BiPac 8900 largely so I could tweak the snr of my VDSL line.
I live some way from the cabinet and the 8900 is syncing at 11.399 down and 4.998 up but with an SNR of 18.1dB rather tna the 3dB I know the line can support.
Downstream Upstream
Line Coding (Trellis) On On
SNR Margin (dB) 18.1 12.4
Attenuation (dB) 25.9 0.0
Output Power (dBm) 9.0 7.2
Attainable Rate (Kbps) 22151 8067
Rate (Kbps) 11399 4998
I've set the snr tweak to 1 which is quite aggressive but no effect.
Have I missed something or do I need to wait for the remote end to adjust ?
I've done a reboot but no joy.
Regards Tim

Re: new user and snr question
The SNR tweak only works with the ADSL, it will not work with VDSL as this is overridden by the local exchange equipmenttimdf911 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 2:59 pm Hi

The only option is to ask your ISP to reset your line profile, (for a target of 6db or 3db depending on your line environment)

Re: new user and snr question
oops - that would explain it.
Appreciate the clarification - I was under the impression it would work on VDSL as well.
