Restoring 8900AX-1600 configuration to 8900AX-2400

Hi,

My 3-year-old 8900AX-1600 has developed a problem with the 2.4Ghz hardware - networks on this band no longer show up on any devices, while the 5Ghz still works. (Tried factory reset, reflashing firmware etc with no success)

However, I need the 2.4Ghz, so have ordered a replacement - but could only get the 8900AX-2400.

My question is: can I restore the backed-up configuration from the 8900AX-1600 to the 8900AX-2400 through the admin interface, or will I need to do all the settings manually again? Are the two compatible in this respect?

As the two models have different hardware you can't restore the setting off your 1600 to the 2400. (a manual configuration will be needed)

Thanks for the quick reply - just figured that out after looking at the difference in the menu options in the manual! One other query: is there any point looking into getting the 1600 repaired or is it cost-prohibitive?

Depends on if the device is still within warranty, if out warranty it can only be repaired in Taiwan (so shipping costs back and forth to Taiwan and after a inspection is made a price can be quoted for the repair if repairable)
