hi. my 7800 (running 1.06g) ground to a halt last night after throwing hundreds of :
kernel: Warning: Low memory condition - consider removing some software components
messages.
apart from changing the wan profile from pppoa to mpoa a week or so ago, the config hasn't changed for months (if not years).
does anyone know what "software components" i should consider removing ? cheers.

What features do you have enabled in the router?? eg PPTP, Fixed Host, Packet filtering rules, Firewall logs, URL Filters, MAC filtering etc

Have you tried to reset the unit and set up the MPOA connection and all PPTP, QOS, DDNS, port map rules and SNMP again?
As the issue only occured once you changed from PPPOA to MPOA.

Re: Low memory condition
i can't say i have reset and reconfigured the router. i can certainly do this if it happens again. are you suggesting that there could be some rogue config settings causing the issue ?

There might be, but to be honest I have never seen this issue before.Carrot Cruncher wrote:i can't say i have reset and reconfigured the router. i can certainly do this if it happens again. are you suggesting that there could be some rogue config settings causing the issue ?

Re: Low memory condition
it's only happened the one time so i think i'll treat it as an anomaly. if it happens again i'll reset and reconfigure as you suggested. if it happens after that i'll raise a support ticket. thanks for the help.
