Evening all
Hope your all well,
Just wondered if someone might be able to lend me a hand, i have the 7800n router and i was wondering if it would be possible to say vpn into my router and browse the web from my main media machine at home? Pretty locked down at work so just wanted to be able to access a few sites and perhaps a few of my files would really be of a great help. I have never configured a vpn before so not sure how easy or secure if possible it would be.
I had considered getting a vpn service if this is not possible which might also help me out when using public wifi spots which i do quite a lot, just wanna keep myself secure thats all
Hope someone might be able to shed some light
Thanks so much

Do you plan on using a windows machine as the client to dial into your VPN server hosted on the 7800N??

You should be able to setup the 7800N for a PPTP connection and then set static DNS servers to your win 7 machine (once you create a tunnel you can adjust the TCP/IP settings for the tunnel), once done and you dial in into the network, you will be assigned a IP from your home network (so it should be like just being there) once done all traffic should also be routed though the tunnel (as long as you have ticked the option 'Use default gateway on remote network, found under the advanced options of the tunnel you have created)
I hope this helps.
