IPsec VPN on 7800GZ

Post by anromart »

I´m using a router BiPAC 7800GZ and I want to establish a VPN conection from my PC to it. I searched in the Billion web but I didn´t get any clear information about it. So, my question is:

Is possible to establish a VPN conection from a PC to a BiPac 7800GZ or is only posible between BiPacs?
Exists a VPN client software to connect to the BiPac 7800GZ? If not, how can I create a conection in Windows?

You really need a 7800N as the 7800N has a PPTP server, which is ideal for what you want to acheive.

Setting up IPsec for remote connections will need alot of work and need adjusting from a remote to remote connections (as you have to define the internal IP range and the external WAN IP of the client within the router)

The IPsec function on the 7800GZ is more for a site to site connection between two Bipac 7800GZ's

There is software you can use, but settings this up for a different remote WAN IP will be a issue, hence PPTP will serve you better.

You cannot create a IPsec connection in windows, as windows does not support the our security authentication methods.
