Hi - I'm running firmware 2.52.d41 on my 8900AX2400 and recently tried to use the SNMP server. I'm getting timeout errors, viz:
A simple 'snmpwalk -v2c -cpublic 192.168.1.1' responds with:
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 = STRING: "2.52.d41"
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0 = OID: iso.3.6.1.4.1.16972
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 = Timeticks: (269750468) 31 days, 5:18:24.68
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.4.0 = STRING: "unknown"
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0 = STRING: "Broadcom"
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.6.0 = STRING: "unknown"
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.7.0 = INTEGER: 72
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.8.0 = Timeticks: (269750471) 31 days, 5:18:24.71
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.9.1.2.1 = OID: iso.3.6.1.6.3.1
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.9.1.3.1 = STRING: "The MIB module for SNMPv2 entities"
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.9.1.4.1 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.1.0 = INTEGER: 12
Timeout: No Response from 192.168.1.1
The SNMP server was working fine on my previous firmware (2.52 d27) but as I had to re-enter all my config data I can't rule out some finger trouble on my part. The response from the router to the snmpwalk command suggests that the basics are correct (ie) the server is enabled.
Can anyone please advise? I note there's a current thread covering rate limited SNMP responses which could be related I guess.
Thanks, Mike

I'll check it when back in the office tomorrow (not feeling well today apologies for the delay)nightcustard wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 4:15 pm Hi - I'm running firmware 2.52.d41 on my 8900AX2400 and recently tried to use the SNMP server. I'm getting timeout errors, viz:

I will be discussing the issue with our engineers, and get back to you in due course.billion_fan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 9:01 amI'll check it when back in the office tomorrow (not feeling well today apologies for the delay)nightcustard wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 4:15 pm Hi - I'm running firmware 2.52.d41 on my 8900AX2400 and recently tried to use the SNMP server. Re: SNMP timeout error with firmware 2.52 d41
At long last I'm glad to report a resolution to this issue
snmpwalk; snmpget etc. have a default response timeout of 1 second and are set to 5 retries. I changed the default 'snmpwalk' response timeout from 1 second to 4 seconds (-t4) and the number of retries to zero (-r0). I now get a full response without timeout errors. I guess the earlier firmware permitted the router to respond within the 1 second default or my config is loading the router processor more. Whatever!
Commands which now work:
snmpwalk -v2c -cpublic -r0 -t4 192.168.1.1
snmpget -v2c -cpublic -r0 -t4 192.168.1.1 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.9
FYI The latter command 'OID_TotBytes_In' is the one I use to work out the input traffic rate.
