Hi guys,
I have been given a public ip address by BT.
When I log on to the wan section and remove the "0.0.0.0" and replace it with the ip address BT have provided me with the internet will not re-establish itself.
Are there any other settings that I have missed?
Cheers
Mark

Re: Setting a public static ip address...help.
When using our 7800N with a static IP setup when the WAN IP is set to 0.0.0.0 it will obtain the IP address automatically.
On our two static IP lines when the IP address is set to 0.0.0.0 (with Zen and Enta ISP's) the router will obtain our static IP address automatically.
The question is when your 7800N is set 0.0.0.0 what IP address does it obtain, does the IP address match the static IP that BT has provided you?

Thanks for the reply.
The router doesnt automatically pick up the static ip address when left at 0.0.0.0.
And everytime I change the 0.0.0.0 to the ip address BT have assigned to me I have no internet connection.
Cheers

You might have to check with BT, as they might not have routed your static IP properly.
Give them a ring and state the IP address you get when set to 0.0.0.0, ask them to check the IP address of your working solution and see why the static IP address when entered refuses to give your internet connection.
