Billion 7800N on TalkTalk Business FTTC

I've just spent two days trying to get my Billion 7800N to work on my new TalkTalk Business fibre connection, so I thought I'd post what worked for me in case anyone else is having similar problems. Big thanks to Billion's technical support for sorting this out with me!

Log into the router and update the firmware to the latest version (1.06h for me)
Restart the 7800N with the factory default settings
Login to the router again and leave it in 'Basic' view
Click on 'WAN' on the left hand side column
Change the 'Main Port' to 'EWAN'
Change the 'Protocol' to 'PPPOE', then enter your TalkTalk Business username and password, leave everthing else as default
Click 'Apply' - the router will save and reboot
While it's rebooting, connect the LAN1 port from the Openreach modem to the 'EWAN' port on the 7800N
When it restarts, give it a minute to connect
