Just to add to billion_fan's post I can confirm that Airprint is working fine here.
Router has latest firmware and the printer is an Epson XP-800.
The printer is connected to the router via cable not wireless - I haven't tried it with the printer connected via wireless
but as the router lives next to the printer I didn't see much point.
Hope you find a resolution with the 7800.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have tried that and I have tried snooping , WMM settings etc. I am no expert on how the data packets are routed through the 7800N or 3100SN but it would appear that if data has to go through the main LAN switch within the 7800 then the airprint functionality hits trouble. If a Billion 3100SN is left running in isolation so that the data packets stay within a isolated wireless part of the LAN then they work. Something odd is going on in the core of the 7800n routing system.

Looks like the 7800n and 3100sn will be going on eBay!
