Under WAN Profile it's
ADSL
PPoA
VPi = 0 /VCI = 38/ Encap Method - VC/MUX
Username & Password/ Auth Protocol - Automatic
Obtain DNS - probably set to Auto
MTU - Mine is 1500 but I think 1492 is more usual

Under ADSL Mode check all the Modulations , the rest clear.

That should work unless you're on MER - which is being less used now & seems to be exclusive to Sky Fibre.

Hope that helps

Hopefully you can paste in the username & password from a saved text file as often manually entering them is the issue.

Are you getting the DSL light coming green as that's the first thing you need, if yes then it's most likely down to the username/password combination.

Yes, I did copy and paste but never checked the light on the router. I did notice though that my password starts with a + sign. Don't now weather to leave it out. Can't remember what I did last time. I'll give it another go later

Hi Folk's'

I've just bought my first Billion router but I'm having difficulty connecting to sky mer. The problem seems to be the username as it it only a few letters followed by the Lan Mac address. I contacted customer support but they thought the username should have been followed by @skydsl.com

I opened the backup file with notepad++ but there is no mention of @skydsl etc. I have the new Sr101 hub on an adsl2+ line.Any advice or assistance would be gratefully accepted.

Cheers
Bill

The username & password needs to be got from the router and the best place to check is http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/

What is Broadband internet access? This question is for my business homework and I have been trying to research a detailed definition of what broadband internet access means but so far there hasn't been any. I would also be very grateful if you could put the advantages and disadvantages of broadband internet access! Thanks.
