Hey chaps.
My family has had this router for approximately 12 Months now and up until now it has been faultless. About a month ago we noticed a change in the stability of our connection. Initially I thought it was down to the ISP possibly throttling our connection as we are guilty of being heavy users (who isn't these days?). My suspicions changed when I noticed lag when connecting to the router's control panel, which is normally instantaneous and pretty swift in cycling through menus etc. So I pinged the router using cmd.exe and found that the connection was lagging substantially and also showed signs of packet loss.
Now, it doesn't do this all the time. This only seems to happen under heavy load; for example if someone is using Netflix then everyone else on the network will experience wireless lag and drop outs.
Is this a known problem? Can it be fixed?
Be advised that I believe my product is now out of warranty. It was purchased from Amazon.

Try changing the wireless channel (1 or 6 or 11) and also changing the 'Channel Width' to '20mhz'Rh0nerz wrote:Hey chaps.

There's a 2 year warranty on the 7800N so you should be okay for a little while yet.
If you don't have the band width then someone heavy using will cause this problem.
http://www.speedtest.net will show your throughput and you can Telnet the router to see its stats and if there is a high error count over a short period of time, this will cause lag and can also cause disconnects so it could be an ISP line problem.
This Kitz article will explain how to interpret the stats http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/linestats_errors.htm
If you power cycle the router to zero the count and then check Telnet over a period of a couple of hours will give a more accurate reading.
