Thanks for that. I have a dynamic ip from my broadband supplier is this going to be an issue in relation to assigning an IP address to my computer. Will the SSID be the same on the router and 3100SN

The dynamic IP is not a issue (once you have setup your 3100SN,you can change the IP address back to normal 'Obtain A IP address automatically'), the SSID by default will be Bipac 3100SN on the Bipac 3100SN so if needed you can change it, to match your 7800DXL, also match the security type/password eg WPA2-PSK AES

If the 7800DXL is left on its default IP address (192.168.1.254) you won't need to do this

All you need to do is plug your 3100SN directly to the 7800DXL, wait for the WLAN light on the 3100SN to illuminate , then open a web browser and navigate to http://192.168.1.253

Then setup wireless security and finally setup 'AP Client' mode

I hope this helps :D

Thanks that is helpful, Just checked and the on its default IP address (192.168.1.254) so hopefully getting the 3100SN will be fairly straight forward

What is AP Client Mode? How do I set this up? I have now purchased the 3100SN and will have a go at setting this up over the next few days.

Will Having the same SSID as the router cause any issues or conflicts? Once configured I can take the 3100SN downstairs, for example plug it into a power socket and the range of the wi fi network will be extended and there should be a stronger signal. Is this correct?

What is a non WDS AP/Router. This is referred to in the link you provided. I am new to all this so apologies for all the questions
