port forwarding and Windows Remote Desktop

Post by sfitzp4573 »

Hello. I want to use Windows Remote Desktop on my laptop (connected to the internet via a 3 Mifi dongle) to access my home PC when I am away from home, and from digging around, I think that I need to set up the router to forward port 3389 to my home PC. I am using the page Configuration/Virtual Server/Port Mapping for this, but my question is - what value to I put in the entry for the Application Parameter? A blank entry is not allowed, and I can't see Remote Desktop in the list of values. Or please can you point me to somewhere that will give me a clue?
Thanks.
