Does having Annexe M checked slow upstream?

Probably sounds like a back to front question but please stick with me

Been moved from BEloved BE Broadband to Sky and have managed to tweak the SNR to get a decent downstream speed

My upstream syncs at around 800 kbs compared to around 1.3mbs with BE

Sky insist their SNR upstream profile is 6db and it syncs this low to prevent errors on my line (yeah ) though there are none, the lowest SNR I've seen is 9db but normally nearer 12db - had a look through my Billion 7800N settings - which the router detected on the changeover and noticed Annexe M is ticked - should that be Annexe L as Sky do not support annexe M?

Under Configuration > WAN > ADSL mode > Modulator ADSL2/ ADSL2+/ G.Lite/ T1.413/ G.Dmt are all ticked should this only be ADSL2+?

Also should SRA be ticked ?

Would any of this affect the sync?

Try ticking Annex L and untick Annex M, (but I don't think it will make a difference to upstream sync speeds)

SRA depends if the ISP/DSLAM supports this function (I don't think sky support this)

Thanks for the reply you were right it made no difference - one thing that puzzles me is why my Blackberry Z10 smartphone reports 1.2Mb upload speed on Wi Fi when the sync is around 823Kb/s

SRA depends if the ISP/DSLAM supports this function (I don't think sky support this)

The legacy Easynet LLU kit did support SRA(Still in use by sky, where they don't have SVBN kit) ,Although it has never been used by Sky,
UkOnline did use it on some connections,at the customers request ,Though it was never made an option for everyone,One of easynets 3rd level engineers made the template that SRA used , and it was he who enabled it , for some customers, he was also able to make more changes than their tech support could, back in the day of customisable line configs, they also didn't use DLM unlike sky who have since day one
