Sky Broadband, Sync Speed fail

Exactly the same cables. Routers are next to each other so just switching form one to the other.

SNR 50 has made a slight improvement, 800/ 4448

Upstream 800
Downstream 4448
SNR Margin(Upstream) 17.0
SNR Margin(Downstream) 6.5
Line Attenuation(Upstream) 23.5
Line Attenuation(Downstream) 37.0

Try changing the SNR to 1, and see if the line is stable with that setting, and of course check the sync rate,

SNR -1 Made the service totally unstable .. :(

Not -1, just 1, we are trying to reach a SNR downstream value of 3.5db

Thats a typo ... 1 was the SNR setting I tried. Although I'll make the change again to confirm .. appreciate your help with this.

If it won't sync with that try 25 for example

Finally got a chance to play with this today :

SNR 1 U7 D4.4 1024/5024 - unstable
SNR 25 U7 D4.7 1024/5024 - unstable
SNR 50 U7 D5.3 1024/4500 - stable
SNR 75 U8 D6.8 1024/4288 - stable
SNR 100 U7 D7.9 1024/3904 - stable

So I am currently at SNR 50 G.DMT. The Sky router before I just switched was 903/5024 so I'm close. But to be honest I'm wondering about staying with the 7800.

Is it likely that once set the SNR will need to be tweaked again? ...

If the line is stable, you shouldn't have to tweak the SNR again
