I'm not quite sure, your best bet is to check the skyuser forums to see what other people are using and take it from there

I'd go with the Echolife modem rather than the ECI version as that can be hacked easily.

As for the Sky username /password then a program called Wireshark is what you need.

Pardon me ignorance but why would the VDSL modem need hacked?

I was able to turn off it's QoS which gave me another 1meg upload.

You can also get the connection stats etc which you might find interesting.

Apart from the fact you can tinker there's no real reason to hack, just that some like to do that. :)

Thanks. I just purchased a Huawei EchoLife HG612 modem last night. Hopefully everything will go smooth - although i'm not too confident about the state of our telephone wiring. We've had a few issues with the sky box doing call backs in the past etc. And with the Sky fibre product being self install - I wont get a visit from an OR engineer :/ Apparently I can request a visit though for an extra £30?

So i've decided to opt with Sky. I've managed to extract the username and password from the SR102. Is there any need for the BT modem I purchased from eBay? Or Can I have my 7800N doing everything?

Not sure if the SR102 is a combined router/vDSL modem or not but If you use the 7800 you need the BT modem.

thanks, but doesn't the 7800N now have the ability to enter your sky username/password and change the port to EWAN?
