I don't know if billion_fan is looking into this for you but if you haven't had any feed back by tomorrow, then I think you should open a ticket at http://www.billion.uk.com/esupport and you can copy a shortcut for your thread into the info box and they can review the progress so far.
I think you can get a response within 24 hrs.

Re: very slow wireless
You ADSL stats are not the issue, as the wired connection is showing 20mbps.mrdo23 wrote:i'll do that tomorrow.
The different results on the wireless is showing that there might be some interference on your enviroment.
If you can restart the router and see if the speeds improve via a wireless connection that would be great, I would like to see if the wireless card is problem

Re: very slow wireless
thanks for taking the time to reply.
i'm also assuming that interference is the issue as the speeds can be fantastic at times and then awful with no change in hardware.
it's odd that my sky router doesn't seem to be affected by this.
i restarted the router a few times last night and even had problems staying connected to the network which is very unusual.
i should be able to test throughput using the speedtest website on my laptop and the app on my phone to determine whether it's an issue with the wireless card on my laptop.
from memory, when the speed drops for my laptop, it also drops for my phone but i can re-test if required ?
if you have any suggestions, please let me know and i'll follow up ...
thanks again

I didn't mean the wireless card on your laptop, I meant the wireless card inside the 7800N.mrdo23 wrote:thanks for taking the time to reply.

Re: very slow wireless
ahhh, ok.
the 7800N has been rock solid (which is why i want to use it) up until last night strangely.
i switched back to my 7800N last night but had to give up as i couldn't stay connected to the wireless network for more than 30 seconds and ended up connecting via a cable to solve the problem.
it's never been like that before.
would something like that show up on the telnet status results that i did earlier ?
thanks

Nope, I might need to see a copy of your system log from the router once the wireless issue you described above occurs,mrdo23 wrote:ahhh, ok.

Post me a ticket on the following link http://www.billion.uk.com/esupport/inde ... ets/Submit with your system log attached, make sure you replicate the issue before capturing the whole system log.mrdo23 wrote:ok, will fire it up this evening and post tonight.

Re: very slow wireless
log posted.
wireless speed has decreased from 20Mbs to approx. 2Mbps and then back up to approx. 5Mbps.
have been able to connect without issue though albeit at variable speeds.
thanks
