At the Billion UK support they offer the following upgrade

But not sure what they mean.... see below

Latest Bipac 8800NL R2 Firmware 2.52.d1

As this firmware has a new base code it is advised to reset the unit back to factory default settings after the firmware upgrade, to ensure all changes within the firmware are implemented correctly. :?

It is not advised to restore settings from previous firmware builds

Release notes

New code base 4.16L05 with latest wireless driver

2.52.d1 is the latest firmware release, with a new Broadcom base code, and newest wireless driver. (I would recommend this firmware)

Is there any reason the new code is not mentioned, with a link, in the 8800 announcements?
