8800NL and IPV6-test with BT

Hi there,

Can anyone advise if its possible to score 20/20 on ipv6-test.com with an 8800NL and BT Broadband? I set up, all seems to be working well, however "ICMP = Filtered" on the ipv6-test.com.

This is a higher score (18/20) than my previous Netgear D7000 which wouldnt handle BT's prefix delegation/56, and higher score than BT's own SmartHub where you cannot change the DNS (and the BT DNS servers are not IPV6), as well as the ICMP filtering.

Any ideas how I can setup the 8800NL to have ICMP working, or is this a limitation on BT's side?

I had a similar problem and I found out that it wasn't a router related issue but I had to change some settings in my security software (KIS 2018)...

I tried again with firewall turned off and still getting ICMP as filtered.

Is there a setting on the 8800 that will help me here?

Try adding the following rule to the IP Filtering Incoming Section

I had the same problem.
Open cmd prompt running as administrator and add:

netsh firewall set icmpsetting type=all mode=enable

This solved it for me

Why do I need to change Windows 10 firewall settings when the router should be responding? IP4 is purely a setting on the router, why should IP6 be any different?

does that rule just let the router pass the test or does it fix the issues the site says you may encounter with other sites?:-
Your router or firewall is filtering ICMPv6 messages sent to your computer. An IPv6 host that cannot receive ICMP messages may encounter problems like some web pages loading partially or not at all.
and:-There is no reverse DNS record to associate your IPv6 address with a host name. Reverse DNS records are required by some Internet protocols and are usually managed at the ISP level.
got to say even without the rule applied I have never had issues with web pages not loading
