8900AX-2400 & switch - Youview config

Post by kortex »

Hi all,

Hopefully that should be an easy answer. Thanks to this post from billion_fan, I am confident that if I purchase a 8900AX-2400 to replace my 7800N, BT TV Youview should work: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=13304&p=27042&hilit=youview#p27031

However, the procedure requires the Youview PVR to be connected directly to the router. In my setup, the PVR is connected to a Layer 3 switch which is the only network element connected to the router. Would the procedure still work if I was to put in the LAN configuration the port of the switch instead?

BTW, that was my first post! :)

Thanks,
Kortex

Nope won't work, as the setup guide isolates the port so multicast packets don't flood all ports/wireless networks

Only option is use a wired connection between the router and you view box, or use a home plug connection between the two
