Hi,
Could this be used with the 7800n as an access pnt and be secure unlike the 8200n and the 7800n that I have now and what difference has the 8800n over the 8200n, would there be any benefit over the 8200n.

If you wish to configure the devices in WDS mode, they will only work with WEP security, set on each side (8800NL >>WDS >> 7800N)Collegeroad wrote:Hi,

The difference between the Bipac 8200N and Bipac 8800NL is the 8800NL uses a Broadcom chipset, also it has a USB port for a hard drive connection, it also has guest wifi networks available if needed, the device supports vectoring, it also has 1 gigalan port, and is a ADSL/VDSL modem

Hi Guys,
I have gone and done it ordered the 8800NL so I can use the 7800N to widen the wireless range a question though, I have set up the 8200N to work with the 7800N and now the 8800NL will be used instead so it setting up WDS on the 8800NL and 7800N easy.

No it won't be easy, as the 7800N and 8800NL use different wireless chipsets, the only way you will be able to get them to talk to each other in WDS mode, is to set the wireless security on both devices to WEP, along with the normal WDS setup.Collegeroad wrote:Hi Guys,

The other way is to use a wired connection to the 7800N, disable the DHCP and change the IP address of the 7800N (to ensure it does not conflict with the 8800NL) and then plug a Ethernet connection to any of the LAN ports, in this setup the 7800N will work like a passthrough device.
