Wireless extender not working if mac filtering used

Post by noriga »

Hi
As per in subject, I am trying to use a Netgear WN3000RP as Wireless Extender which works fine now although I have had to repedetly run the setup in order for this to work with my 8800NL Router.
I have tried many times without negotiating with the Router until I found that the Bridge is only created once I disable mac address filtering on the 8800 router.
I have not seen on neither manuals any information saying that using mac address on the router would not allow the Netgear Extender or any Extender to Bridge with this router and also I am not aware that this should be a standard limitation.
Both the router and extender are setup with WPA-2-PSK security and WPA/WAPI Encryption with AES
The bridge only works when I systematically disable mac filter in the router.
Does this feature requires the 8800 NL router to necessarily have mac filter disable to connect to an wireless extender?
Is anyone using a wireless extender with this router while having mac address filtering on at least this router?
