8800AXL with Plusnet "Transport endpoint is not connected"

Post by spamonion »

Hi,
I've just tried to set up my new 8800AX with Plusnet FTTC which was installed last week.
Everything is working fine with the openreach modem connecting to the EWAN of my 7800N, but not having any luck with the new 8800AXL.

I've followed all the steps through the wizard, double-checked against any threads on here / plusnet, e.g. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3577

But i'm still getting no WAN connection, and syslogs like this:

Jan 1 00:14:18 daemon notice syslog: PPP: Start to connect ...
Jan 1 00:14:41 daemon err syslog: pppd:Couldn't get channel number: Transport endpoint is not connected
Jan 1 00:14:41 daemon notice syslog: pppd:Couldn't reset tty to normal line discipline: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Jan 1 00:14:41 daemon notice syslog: pppd:Doing disconnect

I've done a factory reset on the router, tried it a few times, double-checked the credentials, but still nothing.
Does anyone have any pointers I could try ?

Thanks
Sam

Try the following steps

1. Reset the unit back to factory default settings
2. Wait for the DSL light to turn on solid green
3. Login to the device on http://192.168.1.254
4. Use the username 'admin' and password 'admin' to login
5. Click on 'Configuration >> WAN >> WAN Service'
6. Edit the 'PTM' 'PPPOE' Interface
7. Ensure the '802.1P Priority' is set to '0' and the ' 802.1Q VLAN ID ' is set to '101'
8.Enter your PlusNet username and password in the sections provided
9. Click on 'Apply'
10. Check to see if the internet LED is on, on the front of the router
