where is the frimware page for the UK version of the 8800AXL? I can't seem to find it or hasn't there been a firmware update for it yet? Does it have chech for firmwares updates in the GUI itself, or do you have to donwload it from a webiste?

I cannot help you with the first part of the thread, but I think there is a beta firmware update somewhere amongst these threads - but I installed it and managed to screw up the Billion.

I have the 8800 AXL - and am really pleased with it - it is highly configurable.

So officially the 8800AXL hasn't had a firmware update and is still on the stock firmware which I take it is good thats why they havn't updated it?

There is an official billion c/s person who'll probably comment tomorrow. I'm not that technically savvy to be honest.

HI all,

What do you think is the best setup I should take, I am on an ECI cabinet (Lantiq Chipset). Should I just get the 8800AXL apprently its a really good modem how would it perform on an ECI cabinet? I always thought matching chipset would give you the best performance and lower erros. Wireless isn't that important to me just as long as its stable and I'm getting a decent speed. Or I could get the ECI /r modem with the NETGEAR 6300v2, (I tested the HG612 on my line and I got lower download and upload speeds) I have just moved to TalkTalk 80/20.

Firmware can be found here viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3896, I don't think any customers have had issues with ECI and Broadcom combo (I think the open reach modem also uses a Broadcom chipset)
