8800nl Sky Fibre Problem

Post by Zehkari »

Hey,

Just want to start off by saying I have been a billion user for some time now, and that I haven't got the best knowledge when it comes to computers.

My ISP is Sky and I am on their Fibre deal. After switching over from ASDL a couple of weeks ago, my Billion 7800n had to be changed.
The 8800nl has been great, can see a difference in power compared to the standard SR102 Sky sends their customers.

However, there is something wrong and I can't quite pinpoint it.
Every now and again my connection acts funny, like there is no response. I can't load web pages like Facebook or the Flash suggestions on Youtube to the side.
When trying to play a video game, I struggle to log into the game.
However from what I've noticed, downloading speeds seem to not differ.

But, as soon as I restart/reset the router everything is back to normal and loads pretty fast.

I have connected through PTM Interface using 802.1P as 0 and VLAN as 101.
Ethernet only. Haven't tested wireless.
I cannot connect using the quick start - every time I get - 'WAN setting is not successful, you can do this procedure again.'
I have recorded my 'xDsl' if that helps at all?

If anyone has any ideas on how to sort this out, would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob
