BT Sport on Copper BT broadband

Post by newlyn22 »

Having great difficulty in getting BT Sport on copper BT broadband using 7800DXL as ADSL router. BT only say I have to use BT Hub but that is not something I want to go back to.

First off looking at other posts this should work? However most seem to be using the 7800 via a modem on fibre broadband?

Any help appreciated

Have you tried to enable IGMP snooping and change 'IGMP Snooping Mode' to 'Standard Mode' (found under 'Configuration >> LAN' in the centre of the page), also once you edit your PPPOA interface make sure 'IGMP Multicast Proxy' is enabled.

Finally try to add new bridged WAN interface as shown on the attached screen shot (the main thing here is the bridging, and new VCI/VPI

You created a Ethernet bridge, you need to create a DSL >> ATM bridge, as shown on the previous screen shot

The IGMP stuff:

"Have you tried to enable IGMP snooping and change 'IGMP Snooping Mode' to 'Standard Mode' (found under 'Configuration >> LAN' in the centre of the page), also once you edit your PPPOA interface make sure 'IGMP Multicast Proxy' is enabled."

Were already done. Am I still missing something from your original mail?

That's correct, one last thing I forgot to mention is click on ‘Advanced Setup >> Multicast’ and tick the option for ‘Membership Join Immediate(IPTV) option and click on ‘Apply’

That was already enabled along with Intra LAN Multicast - just in case.
