8900X R3 with USB Modem

Good Evening from Australia.
I have a BiPAC 8900X R3 running 2.52.d15.
I bought a LTE 4G USB Modem off Ebay and confirmed it works in my laptop. The modem appears as a "Ethernet Interface (Android) in my network connections list.
When I plug it into my 8900, I get the messages in the attached log file. Seems I can't attach a .txt file so I'll include it in a sec.
My reading of the tea leaves here is the 8900 is looking for the modem as a serial port and not an ethernet port; this is failing and so not appearing in the config.
Any way to get this modem to work with my 8900??
