Hi all,
I have had my 7800n for over a year. Up until last week I was on Be Broadband ADSL2 but I have just changed to plusnet fibre.
Previously I have used OpenDNS as the DNS provider, to make use of the filtering & stats functions.
Having set up my EWAN port to connect via PPPoE to plusnet (through the BTOR modem) my new connection is ignoring the DNS settings in the WAN profile.
The filtering & stats are not working and this page http://www.opendns.com/welcome/ gives the "oops you are not using opendns" error.
I have triple checked the following.
PC setup to receive DNS from router. (Confirmed with NSlookup)
OpenDns is configured to record stats & the IP address is configured correctly.
Router EWAN PPPoE connection has Obtain DNS automatic unchecked.
Primary & Secondary DNS are set to 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220 respectively.
WAN status gives 208.67.222.222 as primary DNS.
When I set DNS manually on my PC's TCP/IP settings it does use OpenDNS.
The router is completely ignoring the manually defined DNS servers though.

Re: DNS settings ignored
Have you rebooted the 7800N once the DNS servers are changed to open DNS servers??
Also what firmware version are you running???

Hi there,
I honestly thought I had, but when the missus finally closed her VPN to work. I flashed the config & rebooted and now it is working fine.
Silly me
PS. 1.06g
