Port settings for internet camera

Post by jabberwocky »

I have an internet camera which i was able to conect to through my old netgear router, now i've upgraded to a 7800N i have not been able to access the camera, the manufacurers have asked me to change the cameras ports to 81 for HTTP and 555 fot RSTP to save conflict with the routers settings, I have done this and the cameras diagnostic software verifies the ports but when I try and access the camera through my iddns site i get my routers setting page, am i missing some thing in the port forwarding section? or do I need to change some thing else?

Any help would be appreciated...

As you have changed the port you will have to access your web cams on the following example line http://yourwanIP:81 or http://yourwanip:555

As you are being redirected to the routers web configuration page, this means you trying to access the web cams on port 80, as the routers web configuration page is using port 80.

Another way you could of done this is to change your web cams back to the normal ports and change the routers web configuration port from port 80 to port 8081 for example.

Thank you for the reply, I realised reading your post I had to add the altered port 81 to the iddns address.

Now works perfectly, thanks for your help..
