8800 NM and SNMP fail ...

Post by radiomean »

Hi,

As title, trying to setup SNMP traffic monitoring on 8800 using PRTG
I think I have seen earlier messages but not many so I will post.

Can't get SNMP working, and I see SNMP deamon errors in the log - is this still a known bug, and has anyone 'official' commented about it?
It fails at the PRTG end with no response, and a SNMP test program also gets no response.

FW is 2.32d.dm12 - is this the latest please?
I don't update FW without good reason (the router is working fine except for this SNMP bug)

Cheers!

You need the latest firmware, which will resolve your SNMP issue (firmware 2.32e)

Many thanks...

Where is it please - I could only find the older firmware a while ago?

Cheers!

(PS slow reply cos I don't visit often...)

Just to say, I've found the latest firmware and the SNMP is working ... it failed once after two hours of running so I am not sure if it's stable, but is running again after power off/on...

BTW - is there a 'remote reboot' setting on the 8800 NL - I can't see it anywhere!

Cheers!

You can find under 'Advanced Setup >> Management >> Auto Reboot'

a) thanks but I wasn't clear ... I meant a button to reboot the router in the web interface (rather than physically switching it off and on...)

b) re SNMP - I now find it runs for a few hours and crashes the SNMP ... that is why I need a software button to reboot the router!

Cheers !

Click on 'Restart' on the bottom right hand corner and select current settings and then reboot

All issues were resolve with SNMP with 2.32e, a lot of users are using this function and don't have any issue
