I've had some IPv6 space assigned to me by my ISP.
The /64 prefix is showing as the gateway under WAN (this was detected automatically when I restarted the session) and I put the uncompressed /48 prefix into the IPv6 autoconfig section under LAN.
The Windows 10 PC I have connected has received an IPv6 address and have enabled DHCPv6 server functionality along with router advertisements which the manual says is the correct configuration for the PC to receive IPv6 DNS information from the router?
Addressing has been left as stateless.
My ISP has also said they have an IPv6 name resolver that should be picked up automatically by routers that support RFC3646, but there is no mention of the IPv6 DNS address on the router and any IPv6 compliance tests fail (no mention of IPv6 DNS servers if I run an ipconfig in Windows)
I'm using NAT on IPv4 and wondered if that might be causing the issue?
I'm using the 2.32e UK firmware and have tried to reset the router to factory condition, no joy though.
I'm using PPPoA by the way on an ADSL modulated circuit.
Hope this makes sense, any help appreciated

I just tested the Ipv6 on our 7800DX (same firmware) all works fine, also other ISP's don't have any issues eg Entanet (my test Ipv6 line), Andrews and Arnold, Callflow, IDNET etc
Who is your ISP by the way??

Re: 8800NL not picking up IPv6 DNS resolver
IPv6 is working for me using an 8800NL with 2.32e.dh4, I am on the Plusnet IPv6 trial. I get 10/10 from the IPv6 test.
I had to do very little in the way of configuration to get it working.

Hi
Thanks for the replies, my iSP is Zen Internet.
Is there anything I need to ask them to do?

Not that I am aware of, are you beta testing for Zen Ipv6??pctech wrote:Hi

Also once you have setup the DHCP IPv6 server etc and your PC has obtained a IPv6 address, restart your PC and see if the DNS servers appear, if that fails try to restart your router also once setup up

What do you mean PPPOE??? eg router set in bridge mode and PC dials in with PPPOE, or the routers PPPOE WAN connection.pctech wrote:Sorry for not coming back earlier

Re: 8800NL not picking up IPv6 DNS resolver
Using the 8800NL as modem and router.
As you know under WAN Service you can select PPPoA, IP over Ethernet, PPP Over Ethernet (PPPoE) IPoA or Bridging.
Unless I select PPPoE IPv6 won't work.

Re: 8800NL not picking up IPv6 DNS resolver
If you are fibre/VDSL then PPPOE is only connection protocol/type you can use, if PPPOE is only mode that works with Zen IPv6 its not a issue, its just connection protocol, with ADSL you can either PPPOA or PPPOE, as long as Ipv6 and the internet is working there is nothing to worry aboutpctech wrote:Using the 8800NL as modem and router.
