How to put PlayStation 4 in DMZ?

Post by Bullstein »

Hi

I'm using a Billion 8800axl (latest firmware)
now I've used the 7800n and various other routers where I first have to reserve an IP address THEN put it in the DMZ

I can find the section in the 8800 for the DMZ but not anywhere where I can reserve an address?

Can anyone advise a step by step way for me to place my ps4 in the routers DMZ?

Thanks in advance

Ok I got this to work, only problem (weirdly) is that when I assign the ps4 a static ip in the Lan section then put it in the DMZ, my download speed on the ps4 drops from 37MB to 9MB

And when I take it back out of the DMZ it immediately goes back to 37MB

I have never known a DMZ to do this on previous routers

Any ideas what the issue is?

I just tested with and without DMZ function on my PC and everything is fine, see attached screen shot. (maybe you can try the same thing, put a PC into DMZ and run some speed tests)

Yeah I will try this as I was doing it on ps4

I did it quite a few times (until I could no longer access the router admin that is  - sort THAT shiz out guys ) tho and the same thing happened - DMZ dropped download speed to 9MB
